Nonprofit Capacity Building  & Technical Assistance Workshops: Beyond Visions Foundation (BVF) conducts workshops and seminars designed to build the leadership skills of emerging to long-standing not-for-profit organizations. Whether your organizations is just starting or well-established the workshop presentations are designed so all attendees learn and benefit from the delivered presentations, discussions, questions and answers and program material presented.


Workshop and seminars can also be tailored to meet the specific needs and organizational development level to receive maximum benefit. Workshops are conducted on both island districts (St. Croix; St. Thomas/St. John/Water Island).  They can be presented during the day for specific organizations and in the evening for general admission. The training series will be conducting on the island districts of St. Thomas/St. John/Water Island and St. Croix.  Nonprofit organizations who provide services for individiuals with developmental disabilities and low-income families receive priority in workshop participation. 

 

BVF and its staff and consultants are trained and experienced in many areas of nonprofit work and have partnered with government agencies, provided technical assistance for nonprofits (through government agencies referrals and request). Our methodology and approach is based on principles that individual and collective knowledge and experience that integrates within the following areas: Nonprofit Capacity Building and Organizational Development including Board Development and Governance, Positive Youth and Family Development, and Program Design, Development and Implementation.

The workshop will provide you of the steps of not just starting one but also what it required to maintain and build the not-for-profit. 

Understanding the SWOT Analysis

trengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats

This two-day (miniumum) of 6-hour organizational development workshop is providing an overview of the SWOT (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Strenghts) plus other components that develops the new organizations key framwork: Vision, Mission, Goals, Objectives and Strategies. This workshop is recommended as a precursor before you ar ready to secure the services of a consultnat or facilitator to provide the services for your specific organization. 

 Understanding Basic Fund (Grant) Accounting 
(Principles & Structure)

This 3 or 6-hour workshop provides an overview of the difference between for-profit and not-for-profit accounting principles. How the financial management system chart of accounts (accounting codes) would be structured based on the organizations' programs and activities. Attending organizations will receive a sample of a MS Excel spredsheet that shows how the budget is allocated based on the organization's goals.
